Our Astronomy tours - an overview

Astronomy Fiordland offers two experiences:
1) The original Night Sky Safari
2) The Stardome

Most people have looked up at the night sky before, be it in awe, question or quiet appreciation of the stars. Gain a new appreciation of all that happens high above your head on either of our small group tours, the Night Sky Safari or inside the Stardome. The trips are fully guided excursions which we can tailor as a voyage through the stars to suit your group. Among many other fascinating facts you can how to find south using the iconic Southern Cross. You'll never be star-struck and lost again after a trip to Fiordland's star attraction.

Both astronomy trips excel at bringing the universe to life with a focus on New Zealand and Maori themes, legends, constellations (including the Southern Cross) and unique objects visible from southern lattitudes. Much of the information and constellations shown are also relevant to the northern hemisphere. Indeed, if you're a guest from north of the equator you will not only have a unique southern experience, you'll also be able to take knowledge home and relate it to your local sky.
